Following a multi million pound investment, the award-winning leisure company G1 Group, is this week opening a new traditional Scottish pub and entertainment venture in the heart of Edinburgh’s west end.  The new venue, named ‘Ghillie Dhu’ – after a Scottish folklore elf, will officially open on Saturday 13th March.

The Grade A Listed former church on Rutland Place –previously home to the Stanley Casino – will open its doors to reveal a three-storey venue. Ghillie Dhu will build on the reputation the G1 Group has earned running its award-winning collection of over 40 restaurants, bars and clubs across Scotland.

Open seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Ghillie Dhu will offer a programme of entertainment with a modern Scottish flavour, every night of the week from live music and ceilidhs, to club noir and comedy. The venue is designed to be an everyday destination, where the warmth of Scottish hospitality will ensure it becomes a venue of choice for locals and visitors alike.

The venue will reveal a traditional Scottish pub, a breathtaking live venue and performance space, with decorative vaulted ceiling, period architectural features and a state of the art sound and lighting system. The property is set to become one of the Fringe festival destination venues and will be ideal for comedy, dramatic performances and music events as well as acting as a flexible events space for private and corporate events.
