Cash For Kids 2011 Highlights

We raised over £582,000 and helped to improve the lives of nearly 20,000 children from across East Central Scotland, Edinburgh, The Lothian’s and Fife.
•In this area as highlighted 2011 was the most successful year in the history of Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids. We raised over £582,000 and helped to improve the lives of nearly 20,000 children from across East Central Scotland, Edinburgh, The Lothian’s and Fife. Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids guarantee that all the money raised in this area stays in this to help the children that need it most.
• We helped fund medical equipment for disabled and sick children and provided funding to ease the burden of living in poverty for thousands of children across our area. We provided funding for many of the organisations who work tirelessly to improve the lives of children who live in our area.
• With the help of local businesses, our listeners and local businessman Alan Biggar we raised £77,000 to help fund the new Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at The Western Edinburgh. This unit will help to ensure that teenagers in East Central Scotland who are diagnosed with cancer will receive treatment in an environment that can aid recovery.
• Our listeners took part in our White Water Rafting challenge raising £13,000 to fund motorised scooters and wheelchairs for disabled children who live in our area.
• Our Christmas appeal was the most successful to date and we helped 4500 children wake up to toys under the tree this year. We donated £175,000 in toys and £20,000 in cash grants to children living in poverty.
