Police seize £103,000 of cannabis

Officers discovered the haul in a property on Edinburgh's Gorgie Road as part of a two day operation.

Police have seized £103,000 worth of cannabis from a property in Edinburgh's Gorgie Road area.

It was part of a two day exercise under Operation Wolf - a city wide crackdown on violence and drugs.

Officers found dried buds worth £83,320 and mature plants valued at around £19,500.

They say they are still working to identify the person responsible for the drugs.

Police Constable Kris Harvey said: "This is a fantastic result for Operation Wolf, and this sizeable find will have a knock-on on effect on organised crime.

"Operation Wolf continues to address the issues that are of concern to our communities in Edinburgh and there will be continuing enforcement."

Supt. Matt Richards, who is leading on Operation Wolf, added: "The work by PC Harvey and colleagues on the Operation Wolf initiative highlights the importance the public providing us with information, and the speed by which Operation Wolf allows us to react to their concerns.

"If anyone in Edinburgh's communities wishes to help shape the activities we undertake during this initiative, you can contact us on 101 or speak with your local policing team to raise any community matters you wish police to respond to."
