Police: Over the past few days we have been collating the number victims in these areas as the owners returned to find their cars damaged.

A vandalism spree has caused several thousand pounds worth of damage to 19 cars in Edinburgh's upmarket Grange and Sciennes areas.

The vehicles were parked in Grange Loan, Duncan Street, Upper Gray Street, Fountainhall Road and Causewayside.

Tyres were slashed, wing mirrors pulled off and the bodywork of some cars was scratched.

Lothian and Borders Police believe the same people are responsible for the attacks which are believed to have happened between 2am and 2.30am on Saturday January 28.

The total value of the damage caused is estimated to be between £2,000 and £3,000.

Officers want to trace four people, two men and two women, who were known to be in the area at the time.

A police spokesman said: "Over the past few days we have been collating the number victims in these areas as the owners returned to find their cars damaged.

"These mindless acts of vandalism have caused high-value damage and resulted in unnecessary inconvenience for the motorists affected.''
