What would you be doing if you weren't on radio?
Well I always wanted to be in a rock band - but ended up playing them on the radio instead! I'd probably be a writer if i wasn't still loving this.
Best gig or event you've been to?
For the sheer thrill - i would have to say U2 live in Gothanburg. I was with a bunch of blaggers (ahem sorry, broadcasters!) and we got to watch it from the spacious, elevated comfort of the sound stage - which is a dream for someone as short as me! We also got to interview them afterwards... and that was the real highlight.
Favourite album of all time and why...
that's an impossible question to answer! I have amassed hundreds of favourite albums since i was about 11 and they are all very special to me in one way or another.
Favourite single of all time?
same as above! Although in my Top 100 i would have to include
- Prince 'Purple Rain',
- Thin Lizzy 'Whiskey In The Jar'
- Pink Floyd 'Wish You Were Here'
- Curtis Mayfield 'Move On Up'
- Train 'Drops Of Jupiter'

Best advice ever given to you?
Just be yourself and never lose your sense of humour.
My perfect evening is.....
Late evening summer sunshine, lots of good food and wine. Happy music. Friends and family to share it with.... and a big trampoline
If you were an animal which would you be?
I am an animal. grrr!
My best moment in radio so far has been...
I've had some fantastic times over the years - one that stands out in the more bizarre way was swimming with sharks live on air. I didn't feel nervous at all until i had to sign my own death disclaimer form!
Most embarassing moment on radio...
Well I've had 19 years on the wireless now - and you want me to pick just ONE?! I've held my head in my hands many times in front of a live mike - usually all down to what comes out of my mouth!
My favourite local place is.....
The Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh. My son adores it - so I get peace to lounge!
If I had a million pounds I would....
Spoil my family - they deserve it
The boss* doesn't know that I ....(*My wife, husband, partner etc)
Used to be quite fit once!
Pet hate?
On the current list is...Bad manners, beaurocracy, bus drivers and the Health and Safety brigade who are suppressing the wonder and risk of life for our children

painting peoples faces once they've fallen asleep
